Who is Victor Nnam?

Victor Nnam, is a remarkable personality passionate for knowledge and leadership,  born 23rd February 1984 in Umunnaugwu, kindred of Amechi Uwani, Awkunanaw, Enugu South Local Government Area, Enugu State. As one of seven siblings and a twin, he exhibited exceptional intelligence, diligence, and leadership qualities during his formative years in the neighborhood of Maryland, Enugu, where he grew up.
Nnam began his educational journey at Robinson Street Primary School, Uwani, Enugu, where he enrolled from 1989 to 1995. It was during his time at this institution that his academic prowess began to manifest, leaving an impression of distinction on teachers and peers. With a thirst for knowledge, he proceeded to the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus Secondary School from 1996 to 2002, culminating in obtaining his Senior Secondary Certificate.

Academic Career

Prof. Victor Chukwuemeka Nnam's academic career is an impressive one, He demonstrated exceptional academic prowess early on, as he emerged as the best graduating student in the Department of Surveying and Geoinformatics at Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) in 2007. After completing his mandatory national service under the NYSC scheme in August 2009, Nnam's dedication and positive work attitude caught the attention of the Office of the Surveyor General, Ministry of Lands in Sokoto State. On his return from national service, he was offered employment in January 2010 as a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Surveying and Geoinformatics at ESUT. During his time at ESUT, Nnam took on various responsibilities and positions of influence. He served as a member of the Enugu State Boundary Committee and played a key role as an examiner for the Surveyors Registration Council (SURCON). These experiences allowed him to contribute to the field of surveying and geoinformatics beyond academic pursuits in ensuring professional standardization of survey practice.
In addition to his active involvement in committees and councils, Nnam's commitment to scholarly research and international engagement is evident. He attended and presented papers at over twenty overseas international conferences from 2010 to date.

His dedication to advancing knowledge in his field is further exemplified by the numerous academic projects, national and international conference papers, and international peer-reviewed papers he has published. Nnam's exceptional teaching skills were recognized in 2012 when he was honored as the Best Departmental Lecturer in the Department of Surveying and Geoinformatics at ESUT. Furthermore, his contributions were acknowledged by the Governing Council of Enugu State University of Science and Technology in 2018, where he received a commendation for his work.In September 2019, Nnam took a leave of absence from his academic position at ESUT to serve as the Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development under the Enugu State Government. This transition into public service demonstrated his professional experience as a public servant in land matters with unflinching commitment in deploying experience and exposures for the progress of Enugu citizens.

Prof Nnam served as a commissioner for two years. In 2022, After he left office as the Honorable Commissioner, Nnam's dedication to serving society led him to accept a position as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geoinformatics and Surveying at the University of Nigeria on a pro-bono basis.

This self-motivated voluntary engagement allows him to give back freely to the intellectual community who supported him throughout his academic journey. Nnam's achievements and expertise in the field of surveying and geoinformatics were honed under the guidance of the highly respected Professor F. I. Okeke of the Department of Surveying and Geoinformatics, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus. His specialization in Land Administration Systems, Remote Sensing, and Geometric Geodesy demonstrates his commitment to advancing these areas of study.
Victor Chukwuemeka Nnam is currently a Professor of Surveying and Geoinformatics, still voluntarily lecturing as a Pro-bono Professor in the Department of Geoinformatics and Surveying, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus.

Professional Practice

Victor Chukwuemeka Nnam is an accomplished Land Surveyor and a prominent figure in the field of land administration and management. He is the Managing Director of Geosquaremeter Innovative Ltd and the Principal Consultant of Geosynergy Services Ltd. With his vast knowledge and experience, he has been able to establish himself as a leader in the industry.As a professional Land Surveyor, Nnam is highly specialized in Property Surveys and Land Administration/Management. His expertise and skills in these areas have made him a sought-after consultant and advisor for both small-scale and large-scale land projects. Since he started his professional practice in 2011, he has successfully carried out numerous surveys for layouts and estates. Nnam's professional practice is grounded in ethical principles, as he was registered by the Surveyors' Council of Nigeria (SURCON) in November 2011. This registration ensures that he follows a strict code of conduct and upholds the highest standards of professionalism.

Victor Nnam is a prominent figure in Enugu, known for his devout Christian lifestyle and disciplined religious upbringing. Born into a family where both parents are leaders in the Scripture Union and Assemblies of God Church, it is no surprise that he was dedicated and brought up with godly virtues. During his teenage years, Victor actively participated in both Assemblies of God Sunday Schools and Scripture Union Bible studies. It was during these teachings that he found his faith and became a devoted follower of Christ Jesus. Service to God became a lifestyle as he became a member of the Federal Ex-students Christian Association (FECA) during his undergraduate years. This association served as a platform for him to deepen his faith and engage in fellowship with other believers. In addition to his involvement in FECA, Victor also joined the Noble Voice Choir in Assemblies of God Uwani, Enugu. He found great joy in using his musical talents to praise God with fellow choir members. Further immersing himself in the church community, Victor joined the church workforce at House on the Rock Church, Enugu, during his undergraduate years where he served as a protocol officer and had the opportunity to be mentored by Rev. Dr. Edwin Biayeibor, the Resident Pastor. Under Rev. Dr. Biayeibor's guidance, Victor gained valuable experience in church administration and leadership. Upon getting married, Victor took on the role of chairman of the Church Building Committee in House on the Rock, Enugu. This position allowed him to play a vital role in the expansion and development of the church.
Currently, Victor holds the position of Associate Pastor in House on the Rock, Enugu. Through his various roles and responsibilities within the church, he continues to inspire and guide others in their spiritual journeys.

Religious life

Victor Chukwuemeka Nnam, a third-generation descendant of a land-speculating business family, has made a significant impact in the real estate business. His family has a long history of being major land owners, developers, and speculators, particularly in Achara Layout, Enugu since the 1950s, and Maryland Layout, Enugu, in the 1970s. It was at the young age of 14 that his father, Deacon John Okwor Nnam, a real estate and land speculator, introduced him to the family business in 1998. As a trained professional digital land surveyor, Victor Nnam brought his expertise and experience in the field to transform the family's long-standing land speculation business into a flourishing real estate hub. With his skillset, he was able to modernize and revolutionize the operations, marking a shift from traditional practices to digital techniques.

ASPIRENOW Mentorship Initiative (AMI)

ASPIRENOW Mentorship Initiative (AMI) is a non-governmental and non-religious platform that scouts for the brightest and value-based students for sponsorship and mentorship. The aim of the ASPIRENOW Mentorship Initiative is to empower undergraduate and postgraduate students by providing comprehensive mentorship and guidance in self-governance, academic excellence, communication skills, soft skills, and sustainable career development. Additionally, we strive to create opportunities for outstanding students by offering highly sought-after scholarships.

Victor Chukwuemeka Nnam's vision is 'maximum contribution to humanity towards a better society of man and his environment", he is guided by the values of Discipline, Integrity. Excellence, and Patience. He believes that a new Nigeria is possible in his lifetime. His life philosophy is the Golden Rule.
Nnam is an alumnus of the Institute for National Transformation International and a Fellow of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thought.

One of the exceptional honors bestowed upon Victor Nnam was the Most Valuable U16 Player (MVP) of the NIPOST Basket Ball Academy, Enugu in April 2000. This award served to acknowledge his outstanding performance and talent in basketball at a young age, underscoring his potential to excel in the sport.
In August 2007, Nnam's dedication and hard work as a student were acknowledged when he received the Best Graduating Student award in the Department of Surveying and Geoinformatics at ESUT (Enugu State University of Science and Technology). This prestigious award recognized his academic excellence and his ability to surpass his peers in his field of study.
Additionally, in December 2012, Dr. Nnam was honored with the Best Departmental Lecturer Award in his department at ESUT. This recognition demonstrated his exceptional teaching abilities and his contributions to his students' intellectual growth.
Furthermore, in December 2018, Dr. Nnam received a commendation from the Governing Council of ESUT. This commendation serves as a testament to his exceptional leadership and his significant contributions to the institution.
In 2013, also Nnam received a commendation from the management of University of Nigeria for his dedication as Pro-bono Senior Lecturer, and the commendation was conveyed in a letter by the then Vice-Chancellor Prof. Charles Igwe. This commendation serves as a testament to his exceptional leadership and his significant contributions to the institution.
Victor Nnam's remarkable leadership qualities is why his community, Amechi Uwani Awkunanaw conferred upon him a chieftaincy title as the Ugwu Aku 1 of Enugu.
In 2025, Prof Nnam was elevated to the rank of FELLOW by the Nigerian institution of Surveyors. This rank marks his attainment of the highest echelon of his professional career.

Awards And Commendations

Victor Chukwuemeka Nnam has diverse range of hobbies and interests. While he was involved in competitive swimming and basketball during his secondary school and undergraduate days, he now engages in these activities purely as hobbies. He has also found pleasure in reading, tourism, making new friends, and politics.
Making new friends is another dimension Nnam's hobbies. He has a friendly and outgoing personality, which naturally gravitates him towards meeting new people.
Politics has emerged as an additional interest Nnam's life. He recognizes the significant impact politics can have on society and believes it is important for individuals to engage in political discourse and stay informed about current issues.
